“Created house of Chihiro” memorial hall

FACILITY

This memorial museum was renovated from a house built around 1920, when Chihiro Iwasaki, one of Japan’s most famous picture book artists, was born. On the first floor of the main building, there is a Japanese-style room inspired by the room where Chihiro’s mother, Fumie, spent her days, and on the second floor, a reproduction of Chihiro’s studio in her Tokyo home. The gallery in the annex also hosts special exhibitions from time to time.
